The Cope Foundation 19 and friends from The Family Martial Arts Center toured a local historic facility. Dunirk's Lighthouse. The children and adults learned so much about the artifacts and use of the facility which are currently still active. In the photos you will see some images of the lighthouse building exterior, inside the walls, and the spiral stair case leading to the light. The bulb that transfers the light is only approximately 2". The gorgeous view from the top of the building shows how clear tyhe sights are for spotting ships from afar. The gentleman with the silly hair, Josh Dzierzanowski, was having a moment.

Members from COPE Foundation 19, recently visited the Fredonia Fire Department for an informative and engaging tour. The group learned about various fire safety tools and techniques, including the use of thermal imaging, which is crucial for locating individuals in low visibility conditions due to smoke or darkness. The firefighters demonstrated their high-tech thermal imaging cameras, explaining how they help save lives during rescue operations. The visitors were also introduced to the impressive fire jackets, which can withstand temperatures up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit, providing essential protection for the firefighters as they battle intense blazes. During the tour, the group explored both a fire truck and an ambulance rig, learning about the specific purposes each vehicle serves in emergency situations. They discovered that each firefighter has a designated job, ensuring that every rescue mission is executed with precision and efficiency. Additionally, the firefighters took the time to explain how each tool and hose is used during different types of fires and rescues. They demonstrated the importance of each piece of equipment in maintaining safety and effectiveness during emergencies. The group was reassured to know that the fire department has staff on duty at the fire hall 24 hours a day, always ready to respond to rescue calls at a moment's notice. The members of COPE Foundation 19 want to express their heartfelt gratitude to the village of Fredonia Fire Department for their time and dedication. The visit not only provided valuable knowledge but also deepened the community's appreciation for the brave men and women who risk their lives to keep others safe. Thank you, to Mayor Ferguson and the village of Fredonia Fire Department, for your unwavering commitment and service.
The cope Foundation 19 families and the Family Martial arts Center families participated in a cleanup at the Dunkirk lighthouse. It was a great experience for us all to share in making this historic site more beautiful.
On Saturday February 3, 2024, Cope Foundation 19 took some of the clients to a bowling outing held at Luck Lanes bowling Alley of Fredonia. These children were in the company of their parents and or grandparents. Family unity is key.
These children are very competitive and determined to have the highest scores. Game on! But their goals exceeded our desires to win. Several of the children achieved higher scores. The adults asked for a rematch.
Watching the children and families laugh and simply have a great time assured Cope Foundation 19 that our mission is reaching our goals and accomplishing our mission statement.

October 7th, some of the Cope Foundation 19 children enjoyed an amazing outdoor event held at Harvest View Halloween activity center of Fredonia. The children and parents enjoyed so much fun while visiting several adorable animals, many obstacles, a large bounce pumpkin, rides, and several activities. Not to mention good food and a family environment. The Cope Foundation 19 takes the children, and the parents, on an excursion and adventure event. This is an incredible opportunity to bond with positive people and especially family. You can tell by the photos how much fun we had. A special thanks to my amazing wife, Kristy Matteson for the planning of this event.
The CopeFoundation 19 had a blast with the children who are participants with our programs. We enjoyed nature while kayaking accross the Cassadaga Lake. A special thanks to Mike, with Evergreen Outfitters who not only rented the boats to us, but had us all learn the safety and requirements necessary for with these crafts. Thank you to Ross, Kristy, Josh, Kat, Andrew, Moriah and Bill for taking the time to share this event.
Stay tuned for our next event coming soon.
